Zututh Toothbrushes

Brushing you Labrador’s teeth is an important task that should be done. I am not going to lie and say that I brush Brody and Saban’s teeth everyday or once a month. The fact is that I don’t and I know I should. I know that bones and kibble help but can’t do what a toothbrush can do. I was introduced to Zututh toothbrushes by a friend and I had to check them out.

First, I want to point out that the Zututh toothbrush is not your typical toothbrush. In fact, it was specifically designed for your Labrador’s and other Dogs teeth. You can see in the image below the well thought out anatomically correct brushhead designed by an actual oral surgeon. To compare, I picked up a regular dog toothbrush kit that came with a toothbrush and a specially formulated toothpaste for dogs. (NOTE! You can not use regular human toothpaste for your Lab). Just looking at the toothbrush that came with the kit, you can tell that it could not possibly clean as effectively as the Zututh.

You can see how the brush head easily gets in between the teeth and gums for very thorough cleaning.

The Zututh Toothbrush comes in two styles. Manual and the Electric called Zututh Breeze. The electric is kind of like the sonic ones for humans. I will say that if you have a nervous dog, then go for the manual brush. Brody was not to keen on the electric toothbrush and Saban tolerated it. I think it kind of tickled their gums. 🙂 Never the less, like anything you should introduce the new experience slowly. For just around $7 you can pick up the manual and the Zututh Breeze is $13. Not to shabby.

So now I am doing my very best to give their teeth a brushing. It might not be everyday, but I have to start somewhere.

How often do you Brush your Labrador’s teeth? Will you start to do it?

had a black lab for 13.5yrs, religiously followed a book called ‘all about the labrador’ written sometime back in the 70’s by mary roslin-williams – the equivalent of a lab bible. never ever cleaned my dogs teeth, but gave him raw fore-rib beef bones 2/3 x’s a week, and at 13 the vet reckoned he had the teeth of a 7yr old…
